About Us

Our aim is to provide targeted support to grassroots groups and community-based projects. Hence, we strive to bring about sustainable improvements in the lives of children in crisis and need, through the provision of basic needs and care, as well as educational, health and psychosocial support programs. In doing so, we work in tandem with other organizations, both governmental and non-governmental, that complement and meet our vision and mandate.

Project ChildCare Foundation has chosen to support local projects started from the ground up by community members who themselves could not ignore the basic needs of children within their communities, and acting upon their own sense of social and moral responsibility, have sought to attend to the suffering and plight of these children. As often is the case, these community members, regardless of resources, have committed themselves and galvanized their community’s involvement in order to undertake these projects.

Project ChildCare Foundation is privileged to be able to play a role in our collective global responsibility, as Canadians, to facilitate and take action in support of these local community projects who find themselves in such pronounced and pressing need.

Our current focus is in improving the lives of children affected by the HIV/AIDS pandemic in Sub-Saharan Africa. Combining social work, nursing experience specific to paediatric and HIV/AIDS care in Sub-Saharan Africa, as well as professional managerial expertise, our Board of Directors is uniquely qualified and able to advocate on behalf of these humanitarian efforts, by providing support and funding for accountable and sustainable local grassroots projects. With the contributions of individuals, local community groups and corporations, Project ChildCare Foundation is committed to providing sustainable support and funding to our current projects, while researching and assessing in order to include other community-driven initiatives that improve the lives of children.
